About Pelindung

Keeping Watch Over What You Have Earned

Pelindung was founded on the belief that every working person in Malaysia deserves to understand their retirement entitlements — and to have someone reliable standing alongside them when things become complicated.

Our Story

How Pelindung Came to Be

Pelindung began in George Town in 2014, when a small group of legal practitioners noticed a recurring pattern among their clients: retirees and near-retirees arriving confused, sometimes distressed, after receiving unexplained shortfalls in their pension statements or unexpected rejections from the relevant authorities.

The process of understanding EPF entitlements and navigating pension appeals had become unnecessarily opaque. Many people simply did not know whether they had been paid correctly, or whether an appeal was even possible. Some had waited years without realising they had a legitimate case.

We set out to change that experience. Pelindung — which means "protector" in Malay — was established to offer a calm, reliable point of guidance for individuals and families managing retirement matters. Our work is not about urgency or persuasion. It is about sitting with someone, reviewing the facts carefully, and helping them see their position clearly.

Over the years we have assisted clients from across Penang, Kedah, and Perak, covering a wide range of pension and EPF situations. We have helped retirees from the civil service, private sector workers with decades of EPF contributions, and households managing the transition from work to retirement across multiple schemes.

Mission & Values

What Guides Our Work

Clarity Over Complexity

We believe people make better decisions when the situation has been explained in plain language. We take whatever time is needed to make the picture clear before any next step is considered.

Steady, Unhurried Support

Retirement matters are often sensitive. We do not create pressure or urgency. Our role is to stand alongside you steadily, at your pace, until the matter is resolved to your satisfaction.

Honest Assessment

We tell clients honestly what we find, including when an appeal may not be the most suitable path. Our value is in an accurate reading of the situation, not in encouraging unnecessary proceedings.

Family Awareness

Retirement decisions affect more than the individual. We keep the needs of spouses and dependants in view, particularly when survivor pension rights or multi-scheme coordination are involved.

Regular Client Communication

We provide written updates at each stage of an engagement. You will always know where the matter stands without having to follow up.

Legal Assistance for Pension Matters in Malaysia

Malaysia's retirement system involves two main frameworks: the Employees Provident Fund (KWSP) for private sector employees, and the civil pension scheme administered by the Retirement Fund Incorporated (KWAP) for those who have served in the public sector. Each has its own documentation requirements, entitlement structures, and appeal mechanisms.

At Pelindung, we work with individuals who are approaching retirement, who have recently retired, or who have already encountered a difficulty with a pension claim. Our focus is on understanding each person's specific position — reviewing the relevant records, identifying any discrepancy or missed entitlement, and advising clearly on the available options.

Pension appeal proceedings in Malaysia require careful preparation and an understanding of the administrative process involved. We assist with compiling documentation, drafting measured correspondence to the relevant authority, and tracking the progress of a submission. We keep our clients informed throughout and explain each development in plain language.

For households managing both public and private retirement schemes, our complete retirement protection service coordinates all aspects of the review in a single engagement — including survivor pension documentation, which is frequently overlooked until it becomes urgent.

Our office is located in George Town, Penang, at Level 11, Menara Northam. We see clients by appointment during office hours and are reachable by telephone and email for initial enquiries.
